Balintawak Eskrima Certification Test Under Applied Eskrima Global

Blade Apprentice AEG Module 1 Balintawak Eskrima Certification Test (Practical)

Blade Apprentice AEG Module 1 Balintawak Eskrima Certification Test (Practical)

The most dreaded day came. The moment of truth. The Judgment day. During our recent Eat, Sleep, Train FMA: Balintawak Eskrima Training in Cebu, two of my teammates and I took our Module 1 Balintawak Eskrima Certification tests under Applied Eskrima Global. The AEG comprehensive exam consists of three parts: written, verbal and practical.

Module 1 is the foundation of AE system and is no joking matter—by no means easy to master. It has a total of 26 lessons (A to Z) and with each lesson having at least 3-14 sub parts.

I had been preparing for this for more than a year. I had to painstakingly manage my time in between working, training and traveling. It was probably one of the toughest preparations I went through. There were many times when I almost gave up because of stress, pressure and self-doubt. But I persevered.

keep the faith

In the end, I passed. We all did! Yay!!! Finally, I can sleep in peace, knowing we all made it. Personally, I feel badass that my hard work, patience and determination paid off. My sweat, tears, bruises, blood, all sorts of pains and sprains and even a chipped tooth were all worth it! Glad it’s over. But who am I kidding, right? We all know it’s just the beginning. I need to continuously train to further polish my skills and improve. Besides, training is a lifetime commitment.

Passing this rigorous test wouldn’t be possible without the wonderful people who had helped me along the way. I couldn’t thank enough the following:

Master Virgil Cavada – Thank you for recognizing my hardwork and for being a great example of what a true Filipino martial artist and master is. I will do my best to excel as an AE practitioner and preserve/promote Filipino martial arts in every way I can.

Miss D – Thanks very much for the support and the words of wisdom. You and Master V truly inspire me! #RelationshipGoals

Coach Jeric Pantaleon – I would have had zero chance of passing this if it were not for your superb teaching and guidance. Huge thanks for your unlimited patience with me! Also for your pep and motivational talks! You told me to claim it. And I did. All thanks to you!

To my teammates and co-testers, Jedd and Franz, Congratulations guys! We did it! Thank you so much for being supportive and overall awesome training partners and AE brothers!

To all my Combat Kali Manila / Applied Eskrima Manila teammates who I have trained with, thank you for helping me practice and nail the test!

To my best friend for the moral support and helping me memorize the lessons in Module 1, super thanks!

To FIST Gym and The Roxy Events Place for providing a conducive and fun training venue, thanks a lot!

Of course, my infinite gratitude and glory goes to the Almighty for always guiding me during training, and for granting my prayer!

Ehem, modesty aside, passing this test has just made me the First Female in the World and the entire universe 😛 to be certified in Module 1 of Applied Eskrima Global (Balintawak style).
