As the blog name implies, this web space is mainly about my exciting journey as a blade apprentice (my crafted term for ‘Kali student or practitioner’).
I’ve finally started this blog a few months after realizing I’m committed to Filipino Martial Arts. Although, at first try, I think I already knew that I’d like to learn and be great at it. Kinda like kismet if you believe in such. But yeah, no kidding. I love Filipino Martial Arts! Hence, the blog.
Ultimately, this blog aims to inspire others, most especially fellow Filipinos to at least take a stab at (pun intended) Arnis / Kali / Eskrima, our very own warrior art. Who knows, you might like it, too!
But hey wait there’s more! 😉 Sticks and blades are not my sole passion. On the side, I will be posting about other martial arts, health and fitness, travel and other things that make my heart palpitate and my pupils dilate.
I don’t claim to be an expert on any of these topics, so don’t stab me if you find anything disagreeable. No hate, politics and bashing allowed! Constructive criticisms are welcome, though. Feel free to contact me for questions, comments, project collaborations or if you simply wanna say ‘Hey’. Cheers! Pugay (Respect)!
Just to be clear, I may use ‘Filipino Martial Arts’ (FMA) interchangeably with ‘Kali’ and when I do, I refer to Kali/Arnis/Eskrima. Otherwise, I’ll specify what other Filipino Martial Art I’m talking about (Yaw-Yan, Sikaran, Filipino Silat, etc.).
